Rebecca Davis

I was born in Torquay ( Devon) and spent almost two years of my life there before my parents decided to relocate to the South of Spain.

I taught myself how to read and write English, using Spanish to phonetically sound out the words till they made sense, though I still struggle with Dyslexia. I was a professional Flamenco dancer for 15 years, and I loved every second of it, though I have terrible stage fright and could never speak in front of an audience, dancing was different, the audience didn't exist, only the music.

At 18 I got my degree in Office Management, though I rarely made use of it, working where I could find employment, from beach-side restaurant kitchens to holiday home cleaning.

I finally decided that I wanted to do something more with my life, so, in 2012, with my last 300€, I booked myself a flight to the UK and signed up to train as a carer.

I haven't looked back since. Though being a carer wasn't my "calling", I do feel I belong in the care industry. I love what I do and I could never imagine myself in any other profession.

I've been part of the ANGELS Family since June 6th 2014.

You, our members, are important to me. If you are ill, I will call whoever is on duty for an update; if you have had some good news, I smile and celebrate that.

I'm an animal obsessive (I have two rescue dogs), I love to cook and bake, I enjoy a good debate accompanied by a nicely aged Bourbon, I am a believer in freedom of expression and I love to read.

Jessi James

Hi, I'm Jessi and I am West country born and bred.  I have always loved the outdoors, and keeping fit.  I came to Spain in January 2000.  I wanted to further my basic knowledge of the Spanish language, and planned to stay here for 3 months,   I am still here now, 17 years later!   I love living here, the beautiful climate, wonderfully welcoming Spanish community, and the freedom you have, have made this my home, and I couldn't imagine living anywhere else!  I started out travelling around, working markets, and festivals. Selling silver jewellery in the summer, and working in a local bar/restaurant in the winter.  After living here for some years, I realised that I was being asked, more and more to help people with appointments, or simply communicating with the locals. And that´s how Jessica the translator was born!  I found that I enjoyed translating, and helping people, so I decided to send off my CV to The Angels nursing group.  I have been with the angels for nearly 5 years now.   I did take a year out when my son was born. I Have 2 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats.  In the UK I was a very keen horse rider and worked as a groom.  I remember once  competing at a show against the very young Zara Phillips!  (I won the competition) and was due in to another jumping ring immediately after!  I couldn't find the ring, and went galloping up to the nearest lady for directions.  Shouting loudly, "do you know where ring 5 is?"  She turned looked at me and Sniggered! Then her bodyguard sent me off in the right direction! I later found out that the lady was Princess Anne!
